Congratulations to the 2011 University Research Grant recipients. The total value of grants awarded in 2011 is $95,710 and was announced in June. This year's H.A Krentz award goes to Dr. Carlos Ventura, University of British Columbia, for having the top ranked research proposal. link

The 2011 G.J. Jackson Fellowship recipient is Morteza Dehghani, a Ph.D. student at Ecole Polytechnique.

A case study gallery of over 80 innovative steel buildings from Canada, the U.S. and abroad. Each building set includes at least 16 images that show various structural systems and connections, and their use in exciting design with steel. The site is hosted and maintained by Professor Terri Meyer Boake of the University of Waterloo.
